Dusseldorf in two days (3 days if you include the delay).
Last week I visited Dusseldorf on a business trip, at one point I was on the brink of sleeping while standing but I powered through. The thought of seeing the culture, galleries, architecture and shops gave me that extra boost to get out and site see. This inspired me to write a piece on one of my trips.
It is 2:45 am and I am out of the bed, 3:15 I am out of the door and ready to jump into a cab and catch a train to Gatwick airport. Ten stops or so later, the automated voice announces "Gatwick Aiport"so I get off the train chuffed with the fact that my over planning allows me some time to stroll to security. I hand over my ticket to which I am refused entry and advised to catch the train to the North Terminal!
Eventually I am on the plane, sorry to all the wonderful air stewardess out there but I always fall to sleep as soon as I take seat and clip on my safety belt. In an hours time which feels like 15 minutes, I land and head to the hotel, drop my baggage and head out to a meeting. Six hours later I leave to see Altstadt (old city), here I find a strip of bars surrounded by high street/ high end shops which are again surrounded by beautiful old buildings and the serpentine river. The atmosphere is lively and laid back, the crowd is buzzing with people free from work on a Thursday evening. I try one of the steak houses which was so tasty, another good eatery is 'Space Burger', you will find burgers with all meats, sauces and garnishes, I recommend the 'potatoes' (that's wedges to us) with aoili.
The same thing happens the following day except my flight is delayed so I take the coach to Cologne, cut the story short I arrive in London town at 3:00 am and get into work the next day at 9:00 am, only joking it was a Friday. I'm not one to function on less than 6 hours sleep but its days like this where I know that my passion is the driving force behind my energy, my hearts in the right path and i'm ready to take on my next trip.

Scott Campbell's Work exhibited at the OHWOW gallery.
A collection of etched US dollars, illustration within an ostrich egg, graphite and ink, all part of the Noblesse Oblige project is on show at the OHWOW gallery from March 19 - April 22nd ( LA). The idea behind Scott Campbell's skill in transferring tattoo flash designs onto delicate work is his way of reinstating his origin as a tattoo artist. The title Noblesse Oblige implies that whoever claims to be noble must conduct their life accordingly, and in a manner that conforms to one’s position.

What Are You Wearing Tonight?
It's the Mr's birthday dinner tonight to which we will move onto a bar. I thought to myself, what can you wear to avoid looking overdressed or too casual. I looked to this season's runway for inspiration and found the focus to my outfit - patterned hosiery! Henry Holland was one of the top 10 designers from London Fashion Week, I always loved his daring tights but this season I noticed that tights were paired up with ankle socks for a school girl/ vintage look, I also went for the warm tones from Henrik Vibskov.

Shopping/ Business Trip to Dublin.
Finally Some London Sun. |
Everyone needs a baseball jacket. |
During a business trip to Dublin, I took a quick visit to the Forever 21 store in the Jervis Shopping Centre. On all three floors, I found items that would suit all styles. From smart, preppy pieces to glamorous sleek evening wear, the collections were very on trend and the prices are similar to H&M.
There is currently one store in Birmingham and Dublin, however, there are plans on new store openings across the UK.
Kanye West's video 'Runaway' sprung to mind. |
Dublin Lights. |
